Working with Toon Boom for the first time. Wasn't liking it much at first, but starting to get the feel for it now. Whipped this off in about an hour and a half.

Animation 3 - Assignment #1: the jump

Digital Tools 2 - Assignment #1

Started classes last week and already I had a canceled class today soooo... maybe next week I'll find out what my Storytelling class is all about? Anyways, all moved into the new cube and promptly re-arranged to have a window seat over seeing the sunny world. *sigh*

Above is my first assignment for Digital Tools 2, to draw a fish of my own choosing (as long as it has scales, in this case a betta fish), scan it and colour it greyscaled in Photoshop (full colour comes this week I guess).

30 min sketch, 2.5 hours in Photoshop CS3.

After spending the past couple of days at Frank and Kait's, it's no surprise that I would get the urge to integrate a cat character into my would-be-comic.

some original characters

For quite some time I've been wanting to make an on-going comic. I started a couple of years ago coming up with some characters, but they never really developed a story. So then I spent some time thinking of what kind of story I want to tell, then went back to the characters I had and realized my drawing style had changed. This has really been going back and forth for over 2 years now so we'll see how this goes.

Eli is a character that I've had since May 2007. I'm still working on his backstory and all, but his design hasn't really changed at all since then (besides maybe trying out slightly different lengths of hair on him).

obligatory first post

This was kind of my stunned reaction of relief when I got my grades back in May letting me know that I could continue to 2nd Year. So after 2 semesters of being on hiatus, I will now be returning to school full-time in 3 short days. Woo! I'm kind of excited after a long time of... not being excited for school. : I

Anyways, yet again starting a new blog, I seem to get tired of old blogs quickly that are either full of old artwork or I just don't like the name anymore. Hopefully, I stick with this one for a while...at least for the school year.

So expect lots of sketches and animations and such, experimenting with different styles (like the one above, kind of going fora graphic novel style).
